CHOOSE WISELY When God created the Garden of Eden, He put man in charge of it and in the midst of this Garden,  God planted the tree of knowledge of good and evil and in Gen 2:17, God commanded man not to eat of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. He said "in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shall surely die". Here, God gave man a choice; to choose between life and death.  The death that God refers to here is separation and death as a consequence for disobedience  (sin). Adam and Eve disobeyed when they ate of the forbidden fruit. Rule 1: the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23) The reason why all sins are equal is because sin is first and foremost disobedience to God.  Irrespective of the gravity of the sin, there was first a choice to disobey and by so doing choose death.
